Wild Burmese Pythons Attack Bay Area

According to the San Francisco Gate, the bay area is soon to become infested with wild Burmese pythons.

The escaped pets from Florida are apparently moving at a rate of 20 miles per day toward San Francisco. They are unstoppable and can kill anything. Do not ever screw around with a Burmese python.

Remain in your homes, pray, and we may live to see another day...

...(seriously pythons??? It may not be news but it sure is comedy. Thanks Fark)

Plastic Bag Replacement

A company that makes delivery bags for The New York Times and other major newspapers has designed a plastic bag to biodegrade within three months.

The development of these newspaper protectors may have fast-acting positive environmental effects throughout the country.

In the rapidly-building wave of eco-friendly technology, I wouldn't be surprised to see other plastic producers following suit.

...Now if I can just find someone who isn't a hippie to endorse hemp we might be getting somewhere!

Has Penn State Defeated Global Warming?

Solar cell directly splits water for hydrogen from PhysOrg.com

Plants trees and algae do it. Even some bacteria and moss do it, but scientists have had a difficult time developing methods to turn sunlight into useful fuel. Now, Penn State researchers have a proof-of-concept device that can split water and produce recoverable hydrogen.

The guys over at Penn State have sure outdone themselves this time.

The only questions I might ask are,
"How long will it take for this technology to mature?" (It matters)
"How much money would the development of this iridium technology cost?"
"Who would fund it?"

With any luck in monumental, groundbreaking scientific breakthroughs, we'll be zipping around in hydrogen cars in no time.

Conservation's Heavy Cost

Facing illegal deforestation, Brazil says the price of rainforest maintenance is now $2 billion dollars per year.
But what kind of chump would pay $2 billion in cash to keep our ozone safe? Pssh. Surely someone is willing to front that kind of money for the safety of the entire world.
Hey, what about these guys?

I mean, its not like we have a glaring, ugly oil industry that fuels carbon-emission doomsday, or anything, right? ......
......Thanks in advance OPEC!

"Clinical researchers say the federal government has resisted full study of the potential medical benefits of cannabis, instead pouring money into looking at its negative effects."

As if this was news.
